A LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

It's a surreal feeling turning the pages of the next chapter into Risk V. Five issues later, and I feel as though this issue is a blueprint of what I had hoped Risk would one day become. Fashion with purpose, style with a destination, and a photographic lens that sparks conversation.

When I look at the issue, from the initial thought, all the way throughout the creative process, until the very last text was inserted, it feels very  personal  me. In my daily life, it's nearly impossible to go more than a few hours without seeing some sort of negative opposing viewpoint or  ideology against myself, those who I relate and love, or the millions more who deserve respect and compassion just like anyone else.  Whether it be a person to person encounter, social media, or all the way up to the "highest" leaders of the free world, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, toxic masculinity, xenophobia, casteism, classism, the list goes on, tend to be manifesting in all aspects of our society. Our mission as a publication, was to reinforce, assist, encourage, and glorify the communities,  cultures, and lifestyles often under scrutiny, underrepresented, and marginalized. I've learned that the only way to deal with an unfair and cruel world is to become so bold, free, and unapologetic that your very existence is an act of defiance and revolution. Be Bold. Be Innovative. Take a Risk.
